Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Duration: 6 Months

Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deep learning and natural language processing, with hands-on experience in large language models and MLOps practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in machine learning development.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring machine learning engineers or developers.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Client Azure.
  • Strong understanding of MLOps tools and workflows.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization using Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Airflow, or similar data warehousing and orchestration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles, version control systems (e.g., Git), and production deployment best practices.
  • Previous experience with one or more of the following orchestration tools: Apache Airflow, Kubeflow, Dagster, Flyte, Metaflow.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions with a strong focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Lead and mentor a team of machine learning engineers or developers.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, DevOps, and compliance.
  • Ensure solutions meet application implementation requirements related to risk, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply strong software engineering principles, including design patterns, testing strategies, and deployment best practices.
  • Contribute to DevOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD and production deployments.
