Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for the design and detailing of complex mechanical components and assemblies. Working within a team of approximately 15 engineers and designers, you will primarily focus on creating and maintaining detailed CAD models and production drawings that support ongoing product development activities.
This role is ideal for an experienced Creo user who enjoys working on large-scale mechanical equipment and can effectively balance drafting, design support, and engineering problem-solving in a fast-paced product development environment.
While the position involves some design responsibilities, the primary focus will be creating high-quality models, drawings, and documentation for mechanical systems and assemblies that support multiple engineering groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Creo.
- Support product development teams by producing accurate design documentation for mechanical components and systems.
- Work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines, including structures, powertrain, and other mechanical subsystems.
- Update and revise drawings as designs evolve through the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure CAD models and drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Support design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and assembly considerations.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve design and documentation issues.
- Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs throughout the day.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to design processes and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a product development environment.
- Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on Creo design experience.
- Strong proficiency creating complex parts, assemblies, and production drawings in Creo.
- Experience supporting mechanical product development projects from concept through release.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and design documentation best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing products that include large mechanical assemblies, machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Exposure to multiple manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, casting, or assembly operations.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage shifting priorities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and engineering intuition.
- Understanding of how complex mechanical systems function and interact.
Employee Value Proposition
- Join a highly collaborative and supportive engineering team.
- Work in a modern facility with an on-site cafeteria and fitness center.
- Contribute to innovative products with real-world impact.
- Strong company culture focused on teamwork and professional growth.
- Flexible work arrangements available when required, while maintaining close collaboration with the on-site team.
