Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5–10+ years of practical experience as an ETL Developer or Data Engineer in a data platform or data warehouse environment
  • Proven track record building centralized data platforms or single source of truth solutions
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse, and Warehouse concepts
  • Experience developing and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Advanced SQL skills, including querying, transformations, and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data preparation and transformation
  • Experience integrating data through REST APIs and automated ingestion workflows
  • Working knowledge of medallion architecture across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
  • Solid background in data modeling, including star schemas, semantic models, and master data management
  • Experience with Power BI, including DAX, dashboard creation, publishing, and semantic layer design
  • Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, and data validation frameworks

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and support ETL processes within Microsoft Fabric and OneLake to create a centralized Common Data Environment
  • Develop scalable data pipelines that consolidate and standardize information from multiple enterprise systems into a single source of truth
  • Analyze and interpret diverse data sources such as Procore, Autodesk, Sage ERP, SharePoint, scheduling tools, and safety systems to shape integration approaches
  • Create ETL and ELT solutions from the ground up, including API-based integrations and automated ingestion pipelines
  • Implement medallion architecture to organize raw, cleansed, and business-ready datasets
  • Design and maintain master data structures and common identifiers to reduce duplication and improve consistency across systems
  • Build, tune, and manage data models that support reporting and analytics
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models to standardize metric definitions
  • Apply data validation, quality controls, and exception reporting to safeguard data integrity and trust
  • Configure data security, access controls, and governance using Microsoft and Azure identity and sensitivity labeling
  • Schedule, coordinate, and automate ETL jobs and pipelines
  • Promote ETL processes and data models across environments
  • Document pipelines, data models, architecture, and governance procedures
  • Provide proactive status updates, delivery estimates, and risk identification
  • Work with architects, analysts, BIM teams, IT, and business users to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
  • Evaluate and help implement new data technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Help prepare the data platform for AI and Copilot adoption by ensuring governed, trustworthy data

We are offering a 6-month contract with potential extension on a hybrid work model, with 3 days per week onsite and additional in-office time during the first month for stakeholder engagement. This is an 8-hour-per-day, 40-hour-per-week role in the construction and infrastructure sector, based in Vaughan, Ontario. We offer casual dress and on-site parking, and the hourly rate starts from $90.00. Our hiring process includes AI-based systems to support initial applicant screening.
