About the position

Duties

The Senior Marine Inspector’s duties and responsibilities include the following : 👉 Inspection of ships for regulatory compliance, seaworthiness, and protection of the marine environment, and issue inspection certificates.

👉 Investigates a wide variety of accidents, pollution incidents, and alleged infractions of the Canada Shipping Act and Canada Labour Code.

👉 Acts as project manager on multi-faceted audits / inspections of vessels covering nautical, marine engineering, and naval architecture.

👉 Conducts examinations and issue certifications for seafarers in accordance with the Marine Personnel Regulations.

👉 Audits ship safety systems, ship navigation, cargo handling and stowage procedures. Work environment

In all the previously listed positions, I used MS Outlook daily to write emails, and send documents to staff members, clientele, and taxpayers in addition to the calendar function to schedule internal and external meetings, organizing my tasks, etc.As a Position D with Company Y, I use MS word to create posters, flyers, questionnaires, and invitations to clientele and team members. I use MS Excel to create and maintain an accurate accounting system for accounts payables, receivables, incomes, and expenses.
