Integration Developer, BC Health Workday (4 positions)
In accordance with the Purpose, Vision, Values and Coast Salish Teachings, and strategic directions of PHSA, safety, including both patient and employee safety, is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA. As such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The BC Health Workday Program is a provincial initiative with seven participating BC health organizations (FHA, IHA, ISLH, NHA, PHC, PHSA and VCHA). The program began in 2023 to implement a Human Capital Management System (HCMS) software solution as part of the BC Health Human Resources Strategy to transform HR services. Designed by Workday Canada, the new provincial platform will replace existing HR and payroll systems in the health organizations with a single, unified technical system that will standardize and modernize HR and payroll services. It is a significant transformation in BC and is vital to the sustainability of BC’s health system.
Reporting to the Manager, Integrations Architecture, the Integration Developer contributes to the design, development, and implementation of the integration solutions that support the deployment and operation of the Work platform for the BC Health Workday program. The role gathers and analyzes technical requirements, builds and configures integration components, ensuring accurate and secure data flow between systems. Plans and executes integration testing, troubleshooting issues related to data transformation and connectivity, and supporting the migration of integrations across systems. The Integration Developer works closely with cross-functional teams and other partners to ensure integration solutions align with organizational standards and operational needs.
What you’ll do
- Gathers and analyzes technical requirements to design, develop and configure Workday integration solutions, including interfaces, data mappings, and transformation logic. Prepares technical documentation, develops and tests integration components, and ensures data flow across systems.
- Plans and coordinates integration testing activities by developing detailed test scenarios and collaborating with the BC Health testing team to verify functionality, reliability, and error-handling capabilities of integration solutions. Monitors and analyzes test results, identifying issues and facilitating corrective actions to ensure seamless system performance.
- Investigates and diagnoses integration-related problems in partnership with the BC Health technical team, addressing challenges related to data transformation, connectivity, and system interoperability. Recommends and implements solutions to mitigate identified issues and optimize integration stability.
- Supports the migration and deployment of integration components across Workday tenants, following the approved deployment strategy and ensuring consistency and integrity throughout the transition process.
- Communicates integration status reports to Workday Integration Leads and provides knowledge transfer to the BC Health team to enable ongoing support, maintenance and future operations and testing activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
