Job description

If we’re going to work together, let us first introduce ourselves – because we are proud of our team at FedEx Express Canada. You know us as a global transportation company – and we’ve shipped some pretty interesting things over the years like part of the ship’s hull of the Titanic, a windmill, race cars, a helicopter, the shark from Jaws and a lot of panda bears who get their own chartered airplane!

So, let’s get started telling you why you might be the perfect fit for our team. If you are a positive, high energy person with experience in Security, we have a great job for you!

  • Complete comprehensive incident and outcome reports which may be used as evidence in civil or criminal court
  • Complete security audits and inspections of protective security systems and procedures at facilities. Evaluates site and vehicle operations to ensure regulatory compliance; the adherence and application of company policies. Identifies reports and addresses areas for improvement, develops corrective action with management and oversees application
  • Support Sales in working with customer "high value / importance" packages / property
  • Collaborate with Claims, Customer Service, Sales, and Operational colleagues to identify causes of loss and damage claims

This job might be for you if you :

  • Perform gap analysis on internal / customer security systems relative to facilities / location and provides recommendations to minimize internal / external threats

  • Ensure necessary regulatory compliance has minimum impact or compromise to the operation and wider business interest respectively
  • Point of contact for civil or criminal warrants or production orders served on the company by any and all law enforcement agencies
  • So what do you need to do all of this? How about…

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3 years of law enforcement or loss and prevention / corporate security experience
  • Working experience with Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Security systems and devices (i.e. CCTV, card access, wanding and screening)
  • Must be able to travel within immediate work area on a regular basis, and must be available to support 24 / 7 operations
  • Must be bondable & able to qualify for a license as a law enforcement / private investigator
  • Strong data analysis and critical thinking
  • Strong communications skills
  • Comfortable working with service dogs
  • Some awesome perks to working at FedEx :

  • A competitive salary and incentives
  • A progressive benefits program, including health and dental coverage and pension plan
  • A Career Investment Fund with over $5k a year for programs or tuition reimbursement
  • Strong Community Service programs including diverse volunteer, charity, and fundraising initiatives to give back to both local and global communities
  • Discounted FedEx services, flights, hotels, entertainment and car rentals
  • A fun and diverse team who voted FedEx a best employer and a great place to work (we aren’t just saying that, it’s actually true)
  • NOTE : Position requires regular ONSITE presence to support multiple FedEx facilities located around the Vancouver Area.

We don’t expect you to deliver any helicopters or pandas – but if you can deliver on this exciting job opportunity, please attach your updated resume when applying. We thank all applicants and we will contact you directly – by email, not by FedEx – if selected for an interview.
