Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Sr. Director of Analog Design to join our mixed-signal IP design organization.

THE PERSON:

The candidate will be responsible for defining, specifying, architecting, executing, and productizing leading-edge mixed signal IP for future SOCs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage an organization comprised of several analog design teams, mainly located in North America and India
  • Main tasks include, among others: overall Analog/Mixed-Signal project planning and execution, schedule risk and priority management, providing technical direction, fostering innovation, improving execution efficiency, reporting to upper-level management, performance reviews, coaching and talent development, recruiting, and hiring
  • Work closely with various disciplines (Layout, Logical Design, Physical Design, Firmware, Design Verification, Post-Silicon Validation and Characterization) across different geographies and time zones, to ensure successful cross-team engagement and high-quality execution
  • Ensure quality of deliverables within schedule and mitigate overall risk
  • Drive the definition of development flows that improve efficiency and quality of execution
  • Participate in definition of architecture, microarchitecture and in design implementation of various state-of-the-art, mixed-signal IPs
  • Engage in and provide support for post-silicon activities such as Bring-Up, Platform Validation, Characterization, Parameters Optimization and final Productization

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A proven track record of managing/leading large analog design teams
  • A proven record of successful tape-outs in the area of high-speed analog design and bringing IPs to production successfully
  • Excellent knowledge of industry-standard tools and best-in-class practices for analog/mixed-signal and high-speed designs
  • Advanced knowledge in deep submicron semiconductor technologies including FinFets
  • Good knowledge of flows and practices in Modeling, RTL, Design Verification and Firmware
  • Analytical thinking and inventive spirit in combination with a solid understanding of risks and risk mitigation
  • Strong/effective communication and execution skills
