Our client, located in Vaughan, is looking to hire a Director of Engineering to join their dynamic team!
Here's what we're looking for :
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- Bachelor degree in Engineering. MS or MBA preferred
- Strong delivery background WITH consulting firm experience - MUST HAVE (will not be selected if this is not highlighted in resume)
- Experience working for large or mid-sized service-based consulting firms
- North-American experience
- Solid experience in setting up AND managing large offshore engineering teams of 200+ (both developers / architects and managers / directors)
- Strong understanding of how offshore teams works - ability to run an effective offshore team and understanding of what makes an offshore team work
- Solid technical background - having come from software development or architecture
- Experience delivering large enterprise digital transformation projects (sw development (NOT Infrastructure projects), web, mobile, IoT, data, BI, e-comm...etc.
- Experience working on cloud-based products / platforms / applications at the enterprise level
- Experience with PaaS - Azure & AWS (must have)
- Impeccable communication skills, 100% fluent and articulate in English
- This role is 70% leading engineering offshore teams, 30% technical (no coding)
- Ability to work 3 days onsite (non-negotiable) : Monday, Wednesday, Friday
This is a client-facing role, where you will be interacting with clients : VPs, C-Suite and leading executive management technical conversations.
You will be managing client expectations on projects - discussing technical criteria as well as problem-solving.
The offshore teams you will be managing will be comprised or Architects, Software Developers, SW Development Managers and Directors.
Base salary + up to 7% bonus
