Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payments & Retail Payments Core Banking Engineering team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Is this role right for you? In this role you will :

  • Lead a team of 15 to 20 IT professionals responsible for systems analysis and application software development, onsite in the Scarborough Campus.
  • Support complex Mainframe and API applications that are critical to the Bank’s transaction posting capabilities.
  • Provide off-hours support to assist team members in the support of our production environment during pager calls and outages.
  • Manage the team in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and standard development practices.
  • Collaborate and align across all areas of the enterprise that impact value delivery (scope, budget, risk, and resources) of the work effort being managed.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with peers within the business lines.
  • Meet scheduled milestones to ensure project / program objectives are met in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with IT Technology Roadmap and possessing an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices, and techniques for managing activities related to planning, managing, and implementing software projects and programs using Agile framework.
  • Lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset and promote an environment of curiosity and experimentation.
  • Guide the team in adopting new ways of working, exploring enhancements that align with the Bank’s strategic priorities (e.g., cost optimization, stabilization, delivery of new capabilities).
  • Act with urgency and criticality, evaluate problems, blockers, and bottlenecks, identify actions to be taken, and assist the team in recommending / implementing solutions.
  • Support the Bank’s transformation in operating models, Agile mindset, and passion for change.
  • Guide and support the team in development and career growth.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have :

  • Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading IT / Development teams.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in software in Mainframe and Cloud development.
  • Nice to have knowledge and experience with Service Now, Jira, Confluence, APM, Coupa, iCertis, PPM.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives.
  • Facilitates problem resolution when necessary.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and determination.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and changing environment.
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused, and attentive to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships with peers.
  • Agile mindset and practical application principles.
  • Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic with a relentless drive to deliver value to our clients.
