Job description

The Opportunity:

The Director, Foodservice Sales is responsible for leading a significant portion of Maple Leaf Foods' foodservice business, driving profitable growth through strategic customer partnerships, commercial excellence, and building and leading high-performing teams. This role owns a diverse portfolio that includes leading large strategic relationships with distributor partners, key end-user customers, and leading a sales team. The successful candidate will shape commercial strategy, strengthen executive customer relationships, identify new growth opportunities, and lead sales teams to deliver sustainable results.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Lead a portion of Maple Leaf Foods’ commercial foodservice strategy and deliver profitable growth with our distribution partners and end-user customers.
  • Develop long-term joint business plans aligned with customer and Maple Leaf Foods’ strategic priorities.
  • Build executive-level relationships and act as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Lead complex negotiations with customers; execute and lead pricing strategies, annual planning, and category growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand distribution, accelerate innovation, improve category performance, and grow both branded and customer-branded portfolios.
  • Champion the development and commercialization of products in partnership with product development, marketing, supply chain, finance, and operations cross-functional teams.
  • Own the commercial performance of the portfolio, including P&L management, forecasting, trade investment, assortment optimization, and profitable growth.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute customer strategies, resolve business challenges, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Provide strategic leadership for your sales team by coaching, developing, and inspiring high performance.
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, performance coaching, and a culture of accountability.
