Job description

We are currently seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician join our Peterbilt Team in Timmins - reporting to the North Bay Branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Truck & Coach based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
  • Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
  • Must be registered in the 310T trade
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team and branch personnel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Experience
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
