About the role
We’re looking for a Bilingual Director, Software Development to lead our Shared Services organization responsible for Intact’s central document management platform: the single source of truth for our enterprise policies. This is a mission-critical set of services that underpins trust, compliance, and operational excellence across the company. You’ll help shape the strategy, build and evolve the platform, and lead high-performing teams that deliver secure, reliable, customer-driven solutions at scale.
What you’ll do here:
Be an integral part of defining and own the product vision, roadmap, and operating model for our central document management services.
Translate enterprise needs (risk, compliance, legal, audit, security, business units) into a cohesive, scalable platform strategy that delivers measurable outcomes.
Foster a great work environment by mentoring emerging leaders and managers, attracting developing, and retaining outstanding talent.
Partner closely with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand needs, prioritize value, and ensure adoption and satisfaction.
Establish clear success metrics (availability, performance, time-to-publish, search relevance, policy governance KPIs, user satisfaction) and drive continuous improvement.
Own end-to-end platform reliability: architecture, security, scalability, cost, and operational resilience.
Communicate priorities, progress, and risks transparently to executives and stakeholders.
Build strong relationships across business units, technology, and shared services to accelerate execution and adoption.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
10+ years in software development with hands-on Agile/Scrum experience; 5+ years leading one or more software development teams at scale.
Track record leading platforms or products with high availability, strong security, and complex stakeholder environments; experience with content/document management or knowledge management systems is a strong asset.
Proven success managing budgets for large projects/portfolios and optimizing cost-to-serve (e.g., cloud spend, licensing, support models).
Demonstrated success managing production operations, SLAs/SLOs, incident/problem management, and continuous improvement.
Strong product mindset: ability to balance user experience, governance, security, and delivery speed.
Strong program/project management at scale: portfolio planning, roadmap execution, dependency/risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
Inspirational leader who builds inclusive, respectful, and high-performance cultures.
Excellent communication and influence skills with executives and cross-functional teams; ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment.
Bilingualism (French and English). For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Nice to have
Experience with enterprise content/document management platforms (e.g., M365/SharePoint, OpenText, Box), search/relevance tuning, and metadata/taxonomy design.
Familiarity with policy governance frameworks, records/retention management, and audit/compliance workflows.
Experience with identity and access management (RBAC/ABAC), encryption/key management, and data loss prevention.
Background in knowledge management/user experience for internal tools.
