  • Oversee engineering deliverables including designs, technical specifications, opinions of probable costs (engineer’s estimates), reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Participate in project delivery as necessary, which may include meeting with clients, contractors, stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Organize and chair regular team meetings to track project and proposal milestones, align resource needs, review client requirements and share lessons learned.
  • Foster team building and cohesion, promoting inter-office work collaboration.
  • Attend and report out on progress and resource needs at regular leadership meetings, including tracking key performance indicators.
  • Support the day-to-day activities of all phases of projects, from initiation through engineering, construction, and close out.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Leadership & Communication : Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Ability to energize teams with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Skilled at easily building trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable leading discussions, presenting ideas and representing the team externally.
  • Adept at communicating project and technical knowledge with both technical and non-technical clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of utility distribution systems and project delivery.
  • Familiarity with electrical utility systems, policies, procedures, and engineering standards.
  • Experience working with a major electrical utility with a focus on British Columbia and Alberta. Experience with BC Hydro systems is a strong asset.
  • Proficient in power structure analysis tools (e.g., SpidaCalc, PLSCADD).
  • Project Management : Excellent skills in scheduling, resource optimization and time management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, CAD software and utility GIS systems.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electric power utility design and project delivery, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
