Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We are seeking a Director, Production & Distribution to lead profitable growth across our Community Services portfolio. This national, market/client-facing role is accountable for new business production, broker engagement, and distribution strategy, with a focus on expanding our presence across key market segments.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Business Development Managers and Regional Managers responsible for originating and winning business, strengthening broker relationships, and directly engaging clients and client prospects. The role also requires building and executing a growth strategy for the $70 million national portfolio, with an ambitious goal to double by 2030, and partnering closely with our large Public Entity team to leverage our value proposition and further align go-to-market efforts.
This is a full-time permanent position based in or around the GTA.This position requires frequent travel within Ontario and Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to shaping and communicating the Community Services’ vision, business plan, and growth strategy.
Build, lead, and mentor a distribution team focused on delivering growth through deep broker engagement and direct client origination.
Drive a performance-oriented, externally focused culture that promotes accountability, engagement, and results.
Establish disciplined execution standards, including broker accountability, pipeline management, and market coverage.
Develop and execute strategies to secure large, complex accounts within the target underwriting appetite.
Cultivate and expand national relationships with key broker partners, existing clients, and prospective clients to drive growth.
Actively support business development by personally engaging in high-value opportunities and contributing to deal origination and closure.
Partner with the risk management team to deliver client value through advisory services, best practices, and risk mitigation solutions.
Represent the organization as a market ambassador, building brand presence through industry engagement and stakeholder networking.
What you bring to the table:
10+ years of experience in P&C insurance, with a strong preference for broker or production leadership backgrounds.
Demonstrated success in winning and growing accounts.
Demonstrated experience developing and presenting proposals to sophisticated clients.
Deep relationships across broker networks.
Experience leading or mentoring BDMs, sales executives/associates, or production teams.
Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, budget management, andcommunication skills.
Must have or be committed to obtain provincial insurance broker licenses.
Have a valid driver's license with good driving record.
Post secondary education in Sales, Marketing, Business, Insurance, or a related field (or demonstrated experience).
No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada
