TWD is currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer for our Energy and Oil & Gas projects to support our client based in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta this is a permanent position!
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and revise electrical design drawings and documentation for oil and gas processing facilities , including : Single-line diagrams Wiring schematics and panel layouts Cable tray and conduit routing Lighting and grounding layouts Motor control center (MCC) and VFD arrangements
- Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis in coordination with engineers.
- Support EHT (Electric Heat Tracing) layout and design.
- Prepare cable schedules, junction box layouts, and termination diagrams .
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams (instrumentation, process, mechanical, civil) during design development.
- Participate in site visits to gather field data, verify as-builts, and support construction planning.
- Support the creation of IFC (Issued for Construction) and as-built drawing packages.
- Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA standards, AER directives , and company-specific specifications .
- Respond to construction RFIs and provide redlines during field execution.
- Contribute to facility expansions, retrofits, debottlenecking, and maintenance projects
