Ability to lead the application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for one or more specific branches of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services. Strong Knowledge cost estimation. Strong knowledge of finance systems and basic principles of finance management. Ability to design, build, and development of a new product, technology, or service Ability to calculate and present the costs of a project when budgeting. Ability to develop and maintain trust and trusting relationships. Strong knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding Strong knowledge of applying engineering science and technology to the construction industry. Ability to review and correct construction drawings and construction project standards. Strong knowledge of fabrication and installation standards and specifications MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) MS Outlook Mail Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) Microsoft Visio SharePoint SureTrak All M.C. Dean applications (including, but not limited to Job Connect, EVMS, Timesheets, Accubid, Infralink, Forms) A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering preferably from an ABET accredited program. 7+ years of experience in any Engineering discipline with Construction experience with a Bachelor's in Engineering degree Fundamentals of Engineering (FE / EIT) certification Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) training National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) training Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. The Engineer Leader 1 (EL1) supports, participates in, and leads projects / programs while building client trust and validating a world class solution. The EL1 leads engineering best practices across several disciplines and has experience with coaching and mentoring concepts and methods.
Job Responsibilities
The Engineering Leader 1 is responsible for :
- Leading complex technical discussions, projects, and / or programs.
- Validating world class technical solutions on projects.
- Ensuring engineering best practices are followed across multiple engineering and solution disciplines.
- Managing technical risk on a project.
- Providing oversight, direction, and technical expertise to engineering teams on a project.
- Leading an engineering discipline to develop new and upcoming engineers and technical experts.
- Preparing client-specific solutions.
- Driving the development and maintenance of project artifacts that are required to ensure success for a project.
- Identifying, recommending, and implementing work process improvements.
- Reviewing technical project details with project leadership.
- Managing the integration of data from multiple company systems and analyzing the data to draw insights on project technical solution.
- Ensuring safety regulations are adhered to and issues identified and resolved.
- Maintaining a positive, assertive relationship with project engineers to achieve project milestones and overall project success.
