Job description
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly skilled ETL Quality Assurance Testing professional to join their team. In this role, you will support parallel projects in a fast-paced environment, working independently to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies across various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). You will collaborate closely with Development and other internal teams to troubleshoot issues, identify risks, and ensure defects are resolved in strict adherence to defined enterprise quality standards.

Responsibilities
Formulate and execute effective testing strategies by thoroughly reviewing requirements and project documentation.

Design, develop, maintain, and analyze complex test scripts for data warehouses and ETL workflows.

Partner with Development and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, manage defects, and mitigate project risks.

Derive meaningful insights and test scenarios from raw data across multiple database systems.

Ensure all deliverables strictly align with the established Risk Framework and Enterprise Testing standards.

Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of IT experience spanning Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Testing, and Support of Data Warehousing/Data Integration solutions.

- ETL Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in ETL/Data Warehouse projects (specifically Informatica or DataStage) in a Developer or Test Lead capacity.

- Database Proficiency: 5–8 years of deep expertise in Oracle SQL / PLSQL and Data Warehousing. Ability to write complex queries across different systems (Oracle, DB2, and/or Netezza).

- Technical Environment: Proficient with UNIX and Autosys.

- Domain Knowledge: Solid exposure to the banking domain, specifically treasury or payment systems.

- Testing Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience testing APIs and Web Services.

Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java and Cucumber/BDD frameworks.

- 3+ years of strong experience utilizing Selenium.

- Hands-on experience implementing or maintaining automation frameworks for Database, ETL, or RESTful API testing.

- Prior experience with White Box testing is considered a strong asset.

General Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively document issues, influence others, and build relationships.

- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize high-velocity tasks, and adapt to rapidly changing environments.

Summary
Position: ETL Quality Assurance Lead / Senior Tester

Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown Core)

Work Model: Hybrid — 3 days per week in our office @ 11 King
