Required Education and Experience:Expereince with Lantek and VPSS softwares requiredExperience with Metal Fabrication an assetMechanical Engineering Technology diploma/degreeAbility to read and interpret drawings, (3-D drawings)Works well in a team environmentExcellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and time-managementAbility to use Tape Measure, Vernier and other measuring toolsAbility to work independently or with supervisionMathematical aptitude Essential Functions:Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time providedCreate a CNC program for the laser cutting machinesConfirm availability and allocate material for a specific job Verification of revision levels prior to nestingPlan and set-up a production run (create all nesting programs), ensuring minimum scrap usageRecord and document all the information that is required for a specific job which includes material and part sizes, program number and type of work orderInterface with Quality and Engineering Maintain proper Martinrea Industrial Canada housekeeping standards Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practicesAll other duties as assigned by ManagersAbide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookWork EnvironmentWorking in a plant environmentFrequent distractions and interruptionsMultiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisy20% office, 80% plant floor (PPE required)Physical Demands:Warm/Cold temperaturesCommunication with Lead Hand, Supervisors and ManagementOvertime, including weekends as requiredWork Environment20% Lab environment, 80% Plant floor (PPE required)Constant communication with employees, peers and managementOvertime as requiredHealth, Safety and Environment:Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes or forklifts.All employees must follow all LOTO proceduresComply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program.Benefits:Working in a great inclusive team environmentMedical, Dental and Extended Health Care insurance coverageGroup Retirement Savings PlanLife insurance coverageAccidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance coverageSafety shoes and prescription safety glasses reimbursementSupplier vehicle discountsTuition reimbursement and career advancement opportunitiesArtificial intelligence may be used during the recruitment process to screen, assess, or select applicants.
