Role Overview
The Cloud Platform Engineer, reporting to the CTO, will play a key role in owning, evolving, and improving the organization's Azure cloud platform and production infrastructure supporting a global 24/7 SaaS environment serving nonprofits and service organizations worldwide.
This role is responsible for the reliability, security, scalability, operational maturity, and ongoing modernization of Azure environments supporting SaaS applications, APIs, integrations, databases, and internal systems.
Working closely with development, QA, and leadership teams, you will help improve automation, observability, deployment reliability, disaster recovery readiness, and overall platform standards across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong Azure infrastructure expertise with hands-on SaaS production experience and a proactive mindset toward automation, platform improvement, and operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and evolve Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services across production and non-production environments
- Improve and support CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, observability, and operational processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, deployment, security, and production issues
- Lead initiatives related to Infrastructure-as-Code, resiliency, disaster recovery, scalability, and operational maturity
- Partner with development teams to improve deployment reliability, platform standards, and cloud best practices
- Manage cloud networking, secure connectivity, certificates, firewalls/WAF, and related Azure services
- Optimize cloud performance, reliability, and Azure operational costs
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, documentation, and on-call support for critical production incidents
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related operational roles
- Strong experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure within SaaS production environments
- Hands-on experience with Azure services across compute, serverless, networking, storage, monitoring, API management, security, and database platforms
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, observability, incident management, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability concepts
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies is strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and operational prioritization skills
- Strong interest in cloud technologies, automation, operational excellence, and infrastructure best practices
- Azure certifications are considered an asset

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience as assessed during the interview process.
