The Opportunity
We're looking for a Business Development Coordinator who's energized by growth, creativity, and making things happen. In this role, you'll help drive SOA's momentum by coordinating dynamic marketing efforts, spotting new opportunities, and developing strategic content that brings our work and brand to life. You'll take the lead on creating clear, compelling proposals, maintaining polished and consistent templates, and supporting initiatives that build brand awareness and convert leads into lasting client relationships. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional eager to play a hands-on role in shaping SOA's growth within the architecture and design industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identify and investigate project opportunities, monitoring industry trends and upcoming requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Interpret client needs and RFPs, leading the team to craft responses that effectively communicate SOA solutions in a clear and compelling way
- Produce tailored architectural proposals, ensuring timely and strategic submissions; coordinate consultant proposals and assemble fees as needed.
- Coordinate and develop engaging presentation materials for project interviews using tools such as InDesign, Prezi and other applicable software
- Track proposal success rates to refine strategies, support follow-ups / debriefs
- Assist in implementing business development strategies and measuring results
- Prepare project marketing materials for portfolios, social media, websites, competitions, awards, speaking engagements and promotions
- Manage SOA's presence at trade shows, conferences, and client meetings; oversee advertising, sponsorships and promotional activities
- Ensure that SOA's brand identity and values are consistent and maintained
- Organize marketing content, client and project databases for team's ease of access
- Help build the kind of team you're proud to be part of
Who We're Looking For
You're a driven, creative professional who thrives on turning ideas into action and opportunities into results. With a strong foundation in business development and marketing, you bring both strategic thinking and an eye for detail to everything you do.
You'll Fit In Here If You :
Life at SOA
SOA is a group of talented people who genuinely enjoy what they do - and each other. It's the kind of place where people pitch in, keep it real, and find time to have some fun along the way. Life-work balance actually means something here. We take Friday afternoons off through the summer to make space for family, hobbies, or a little extra time outdoors. We celebrate wins together with team and family events, and our annual retreats are just plain fun. From SOA book clubs and design Fridays to hikes, fundraisers, and the occasional softball or paintball game - we keep things lively.
Why Chilliwack?
Live where you'd vacation. Families can afford a house. Shorts in winter. Mountains, lakes, and rivers right in your backyard. You can read on the beach, paddle after work, or ski on the weekend - and still catch the Canucks game that night. Chilliwack offers a balanced lifestyle and a strong sense of community, without the city rush. Several SOA team members have made the move to the Lower Mainland and haven't looked back.
