Job description

Our client is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of high-performance mobility solutions. Specializing in heavy armored and tracked vehicle suspension systems, they provide critical support to armed forces and heavy industries worldwide. Their Brampton facility is a hub for innovation, focusing on precision-engineered components—including passive and semi-active dampers and hydro-pneumatic struts—for the military, construction, and forestry sectors.

Advantages
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy standard daytime hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) designed to keep your evenings free. To help you kick off your weekends early, our client offers half-day Fridays, providing the flexibility you need to balance a high-impact professional life with your personal time.

Comprehensive Compensation Package: Includes a competitive base salary, Medical and Dental benefits, an RRSP program, plus performance bonuses and incentives.

A Culture That Connects: Our client has built a collaborative workplace where you’ll have direct access to various departments, fostering a truly integrated team feel.

Responsibilities
End-to-End Shipment & Load Optimization: Schedule and track freight shipments utilizing Transportation Management Systems (TMS), combining routes and timelines to maximize load efficiency and minimize transportation costs.
Cross-Border Customs & Trade Compliance: Prepare and manage critical domestic and international shipping documentation, including Customs paperwork, CERS, Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading (BOL), USMCA (NAFTA) tariff codes, ACE, and ACI.
Carrier Management & Rate Negotiation: Manage the carrier portfolio by developing strong relationships, negotiating competitive shipping rates directly with vendors, and effectively dispatching motor carriers.
Financial Reconciliation & Vendor Dispute Resolution: Audit and resolve freight invoice discrepancies, manage system rate mismatches, handle carrier invoice approvals, and coordinate with vendors to process credits or debit memos for short shipments and damages (MRDRs).
Cross-Functional Support & Account Administration: Collaborate closely with the warehouse team on unloading sequences, issue prompt customer quotes, maintain accurate internal databases, and support the broader contract review process.

Qualifications
Note: Due to the nature of our work, candidates must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada to successfully clear the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements.
Experience: 4–5 years of dedicated logistics working experience is required.
Education: Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Excel is an asset; experience with TMS tracking software and customs documentation is highly preferred.
Industry Background: Prior experience in the transportation and/or logistics sector is considered an asset.
