Job Description
Niagara University's Vaughan campus invites applications for adjunct instructors with the expertise needed to teach the following courses in the M.A. program in Disaster and Emergency Management and National Security for the spring 2025 semester (starting on January 20).
IDS 515-Terrorism :
This course applies a transdisciplinary perspective that will help students to understand terrorism, its consequences, and potential responses. Students will be introduced to the growing specter of this ancient activity and its emergent frequency, lethality, and consequences. Three (3) Credit Hours.
IDS 550 : National Security and Emergency Management :
This seminar delves into a pertinent issue in criminology and criminal justice. Topics may include the future of crime and justice in Canada, analysis of mala prohibita offenses, and examination of the Canadian criminal or juvenile justice system in light of contemporary social problems. The course allows for multiple enrollments, provided each instance explores different subject matter relevant to Canada's security and emergency management landscape. Three (3) Credit Hours.
Job Requirements
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. and teaching experience in a related area. Alternatively, a candidate may qualify with an M.A. degree or related terminal degree, with five years of related work.
