JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Simulator Software Specialist.

Reporting to the Manager Technology, this position is responsible for providing expert simulator training services and supporting in specific specialties such as Information Technology (IT), Health and Safety, and Trades and Technologies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead training projects and teams; plan, coordinate activities, and supervise staff and program development
  • Assess simulator training needs, analyze performance gaps, and develop cost‑effective solutions to improve workforce capability
  • Design and implement simulator training programs, testing frameworks, and performance improvement tools
  • Support simulator engineering activities including Engineering Change (EC) reviews, Station Condition Record coordination, simulator model testing, work package assessments
  • Develop life cycle management plans, acting as Lead Engineer on simulator projects and participating in simulator business planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year university degree in social sciences, IT, Engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years working experience in simulator training design, delivery, and program evaluation
  • Experience supervising staff and leading projects, including planning, organization, and cost control
  • Familiarity with technical domains such as IT, health & safety, or power systems, and training technologies
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills
