Job description
Celestica, a globally known electronics manufacturer in Newmarket, ON is looking for Production Associates for electronic Assembly to work afternoons!
In this role you will be responsible set up and calibrate mechanical assembly tools used in the assembly process. This role is a full-time position and requires the ability to work 40 hours weekly. This role also requires that you are legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
**As this role is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) the qualifying applicants must possess Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency status. A work permit status is not eligible for this role.
  • Pay Rate: $ 19.26/hour
  • Location: Harry Walker Pkwy S, Newmarket, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 3;00 PM 11:30 PM
  • Job type: Full-time contract | long term with permanent opportunities

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble fabricated parts at floor stations. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Lifting 30lbs or less with moderate machine operation
  • Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
  • Participate and effectively communicate with Team to prevent defects, increase efficiency and improve all around safety
  • Perform maintenance task and standard start checks as per HOS Key Success Factors: (Specific expectations in the first 1 month)
  • Certified to J-STD
  • Successful completion of Celestica Assembler training program: Torque, Crimp, ESD and or as required by Cell Training Matrix
  • Completion of task within standard times and quality levels using standard work
  • Adherence to all safety, ESD, housekeeping policies and procedures as per HOS Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:
  • Working knowledge of English language, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination
  • Good team player
  • Able to work from drawings and written instructions
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment to at TAKT time
  • Able to multi tasks
  • Flexible to work on a Second or Third shift when/if required
To qualify, you should:
  • Previous experience as an assembler will be considered an asset
  • Able to lift, carry and maneuver material or equipment (up to 30lbs)
  • College Certificate in related field an asset
  • Basic PC skills is perfered
  • Able to set up & calibrate mechanical assembly tools used in the assembly process.
  • Able to perform a variety of mechanical assembly operations based on IPC & customer specification.
  • Able to verify mechanical dimensions and other features as required.
  • You must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
