We are currently hiring aRegular Full-Time Claims Adjuster!This role is based out of our Burnaby office andoperatesin a hybrid work environment, with in-office collaboration three days per week.

As a Claims Adjuster, you will manage insurance claims from start to finish—reviewing reported losses, conducting investigations, and negotiating fair outcomes in line with policy coverage.You’llplay a key role in supporting policyholders during critical moments, guiding them through the claims process with clarity, empathy, and efficiency. This role focuses onhomeowner claims, recreational vehicle claims, and travel accident benefits.

  • You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and are comfortable explaining decisions and next steps to a variety of stakeholders.

  • You are adaptable and open to learning, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities, policies, and workflows in a fast-paced environment.

During a typical day, you will:

  • Maintain a professional relationship with the insurer primarily over the phone.

  • Investigate the legitimacy of the claim, interview and take statements from policyholders,claimantsand witnesses.

  • Reviews information including, but not limited to, estimates, photos and/or videos of property damage, proof of ownership, hospital records, and other pertinent informationrequiredto fully substantiate the claim.

  • Negotiate a fair andcost-effectivesettlement with the insures, claimants or claimant’s legal representative either directly or through the services ofretainedcounsel.

Whatyoubring:

  • Post-secondary diploma in business or related courses, programs, licenses (insurance related)and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 4 years in a claims orpropertyinsurance environmentincluding1–2 years of hands-on experience handling home insurance claims, with working knowledge of home policies, processes, and property-related investigations.

Bonus skills!

  • CIP designation.

  • Proficiencyin a second language.

The salary range for this position is $62,274.60to $77,843.16andisdeterminedvia job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, marketdemandand internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%
