Responsibilities

  • Offer expert advice, consultation, and support to management staff on a wide range of employee and labor relations issues.
  • Provide guidance and expertise on the interpretation, application, and administration of the company's collective agreements, and handle complaints and grievances for both unionized and non-unionized employees.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into employee and complaint matters, including interviews and gathering relevant documentation, and take appropriate steps to resolve any issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in employee case management, attendance, discipline, and terminations.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR team on legal matters related to human resources and legislative interpretation.

Qualifications

  • 5 Years of previous HR experience (in a unionized environment) consulting on employee labour relations matters.
  • Previous experience and focus on employee labour relations
  • Previous experience in the interpretation of collective agreements, grievance preparation and contract administration
  • CHRP certification is an asset
