Lionsgate CanadaToronto, ON, CanadaLionsgate Canada’s IT Department is looking for Sr. Systems Engineer – Data Storage and Protection to join the team. This role is critical in the Infrastructure & Operations team, ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of enterprise data. This is a global role based in Toronto, Ontario with responsibility for data storage and protection across all Lionsgate sites. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data storage and protection solutions across on-premises / virtual and cloud environments. This role requires a strong understanding of various storage technologies, backup methodologies, and data governance principles. The ability to collaborate effectively with other I&O teams, application support teams, and database administrators is essential.Specific Responsibilities Include : Storage Administration : Install, configure, and manage Dell storage solutions (Unity, Isilon, PowerStore, etc.) to meet business needs.Implement and maintain storage area networks (SANs) and network-attached storage (NAS) environments.Manage FCAL fabric using CLI, WWN zoning, VSANs, zones and zone setsPerform storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization.Troubleshoot storage-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and hardware failures.Data Protection : Design, implement, and manage data backup and recovery solutions using Avamar VE, Isilon SnapshotIQ, and other relevant technologies.Develop and maintain backup policies and procedures for various systems, including MS SQL, HANA DB, and O365.Perform regular backup and recovery testing to ensure data integrity and recoverability.Monitor backup jobs and resolve any failures or issues.Data Governance : Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures, including data classification, retention, and disposal.Utilize data tagging and metadata management tools to enhance data organization and searchability.Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to ensure compliance with data governance standards.Cloud Technologies : Demonstrate a foundational understanding of cloud storage and data protection services in AWS and Azure.Assist in evaluating and implementing cloud-based storage and backup solutions.Manage data migration and replication between on-premises and cloud environments.Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Monitor storage infrastructure and backup systems using monitoring tools.Analyze system logs and events to identify and resolve issues.Escalate complex problems to senior engineers or vendors.Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for storage and backup environments, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Contribute to knowledge base articles and other internal documentation resources.Qualifications and SkillsEducation : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience : 7+ years of experience in storage administration, with a strong focus on Dell storage solutions (Isilon, PowerStore).5+ years of hands-on experience with data protection solutions (Avamar VE, SnapshotIQ, Veeam).Experience with enterprise database backup and recovery (MS SQL, HANA DB) using tools like RedGate.Experience with Cohesity or other similar data management platforms is a plus.Technical Skills : Strong understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage).Proficiency in data backup and recovery methodologies.Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is desirable.Experience managing cloud platforms (Azure and / or AWS) and their storage and backup services.Other Skills : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.Tools / Platforms : This role requires experience with a range of tools and platforms, including : Dell Storage solutions : DELL EMC midrange SAN arrays (UNITY and PowerStore) DELL EMC NAS systems (Isilon) Backup storage DataDomain systems in multi-site environmentDELL EMC multisite replication solutions (RecoverPoint for VMs;
