Job description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Storage Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for migration and replication of server platforms data and SAN platforms towards the enterprise solutions.
  • Implement clustering applications for various operating systems.
  • Implement several backup libraries.
  • Coordinate problems resolution and escalation process during implementations and deployments, if needed.
  • Manage storage frames
  • Implement storage architectures based on capacity planning analysis
  • Plan, monitor, repair and report tasks associated with maintaining storage resources
  • Ensure adherence to SLA's regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability
  • Ensure that information storage and retention measures and equipment adhere to regulations, including SOX
  • Assist with strategies and policies for disaster recovery and archiving
  • Ensure effective protection and integrity of data and stored data assets
  • Resolve storage access problems, retrieval issues, storage device status, and other issues
  • Adhere to ITIL procedures for storage change management, problem management, and incident management
  • Install and configure new and existing storage devices
  • Allocate storage to end-users and development teams based on established departmental requirements and available disk space.?
  • Monitor and troubleshoot storage device status.?

Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • College diploma or university degree in computer science or related discipline
  • strong understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices
  • Technical experience in Microsoft, Unix and VMWare environments.

    Practical knowledge regarding HDS platforms and / or Data Domain (EMC) and / or CommVault

    Knowledge of Fibre Channel architectures.

    Technical experience with multiple SAN technologies, data migration and conversions towards new SANs.

  • Excellent knowledge of SAN, NAS, RAID, SCSI, and Fibre Channel technologies
  • Proven experience with developing backup and restore procedures
  • Storage management and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with clustered systems
