  • Lead cross-functional coordination on government relations initiatives, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and alignment across lines of business.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Indigenous Relations, Community Relations, Legal, and business partners to ensure coordinated stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts.
  • Support executive engagement with elected officials and senior government representatives through strategic planning, briefing development, and relationship management.
  • Ensure government relations activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, lobbying rules, and Hydro One's corporate policies.

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Law, Communications, Business, or related discipline.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in government relations, public affairs, political environments, stakeholder relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or a related field, 3 plus years in Management.
  • Experience working with government stakeholders at municipal, provincial, and/or federal levels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives and preparing materials for executive-level audiences.
  • Strong understanding of political processes, legislative frameworks, government decision-making structures, and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Ability to provide politically sound advice and recommendations to leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare concise, strategic, and executive-level materials.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting briefing notes, correspondence, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with elected officials, government staff, industry associations, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and complex stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Ability to assess emerging issues, identify risks and opportunities, and develop proactive solutions.
