Job description
Are you passionate about accelerating deep-tech innovation through world-class execution? Do you love driving clarity, alignment, and momentum across complex, fast-paced engineering programs? Join Rayleigh Solar Tech as a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM), where you'll help scale the most advanced perovskite solar technology from lab to manufacturing. At Rayleigh, we're building the lowest-cost source of clean electrons on the planet. Backed by world-class investors and a powerhouse technical team, we push the limits of deep tech to make solar radically more accessible. Our culture thrives on curiosity, urgency, and the pursuit of excellence-and we're looking for someone who shares that fire.In this role, you'll serve as a program execution force multiplier across cross-functional R&D and scale-up teams. You will bring order to complexity, helping define and track deliverables, drive prioritization, align stakeholders, and escalate blockers. This role is both tactical and strategic: you'll facilitate execution on the ground while helping technical leadership drive programs that meet Rayleigh's commercial and product goals. Responsibilities What You'll DoDrive Program Execution & CadenceOwn and continuously improve weekly execution rhythms for cross-functional teams, including sprint planning, reviews, risk assessments, and milestone tracking.Work closely with technical leads to break large programs into trackable workstreams, assign ownership, and track progress toward technical deliverables.Clarify Goals & DependenciesHelp teams articulate "what success looks like" across experiments, milestones, and manufacturing integration steps.Surface and track interdependencies between teams and systems; pre-empt schedule slips and interface risks.Align Cross-Functional TeamsAct as the glue between R&D, scale-up, testing, manufacturing, and leadership to keep program priorities aligned.Drive resolution of cross-team blockers by getting the right people in the room, fast.Track Progress with ClarityMaintain dashboards and documentation to communicate the status of technical programs, risks, and decisions.Develop and update Gantt charts, OKRs, and execution trackers in collaboration with technical owners.Support Program Strategy & PrioritizationPartner with leadership to align execution with long-term product, scale-up, and commercial goals.Help manage decision logs, trade-off documentation, and rationale for program pivots.Drive Cultural Norms of Ownership & FocusEmbed a culture of urgency, transparency, and follow-through. Be a champion of structured problem-solving and high-accountability execution.Help teams stay focused on goals, not tasks, and drive closure on high-priority work. Qualifications What You BringProgram Management Expertise8+ years of experience in technical program management in a high-growth, hardware or advanced manufacturing company. Experience in solar, batteries, semiconductors, or robotics is a strong plus.Technical FluencyBackground in engineering, applied physics, materials science, or equivalent. You understand technical conversations and can help teams prioritize work based on both technical and strategic context.Execution ExcellenceDemonstrated ability to drive execution across multiple teams and programs simultaneously. You know how to get things done and make the trains run on time without being heavy-handed.Organizational Systems ThinkingDeep comfort with ambiguity and complexity. You can connect technical details to program goals, uncover hidden blockers, and guide teams toward clarity.Communication & InfluenceExcellent communicator, facilitator, and listener. You bring structure to chaos, make sure issues don't fester, and lead with curiosity, not ego.Startup EnergyGrit, urgency, and optimism. You thrive in a mission-driven environment where the playbook is still being written, and you're excited to help build it. About Rayleigh Solar Tech Here at Rayleigh, we're commercializing the next generation of solar technology: flexible perovskite solar panels. Our company is united by our commitment to change the planet for the better. We push the boundaries of what's possible, our passion for deep tech to solve hard engineering problems, our insatiable curiosity that forces us to ask questions, and our relentless drive for excellence in everything we touch. Other Information Why Rayleigh? We're not just building solar tech-we're building a movement. A world where clean energy isn't a luxury, but a given. At Rayleigh, you'll find a mission you can believe in, a team that will push you to be your best, and a culture that celebrates bold ideas, deep science, and meaningful impact.Diversity and InclusionAt Rayleigh, we know that diversity makes a strong team. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply for this position, and we will never discriminate against race, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, marital status or family status. Instead, we work to celebrate the things that make us unique and create an inclusive environment for all employees.Don't meet all the requirements outlined above but still find yourself excited about this position and Rayleigh's mission? If you believe that you have the skills and experience to excel in this role, we would love to see your application!
