Job description

Who we are Founded in 2010, Genuine Comfort is a leading distributor of Air Conditioners (AC) and Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) across Canada & Mid-North USA.

We are dedicated to “Delivering Comfort Consistently” to hospitality, commercial, and multi-family markets.

We accomplish this through exceptional product availability, local warehousing, best-in-industry warranty and a dedication to on-time error-free delivery of room cooling products.

Our impact is felt in hundreds of thousands of apartments and hotel rooms, with a visionary goal to surpass 60,000 units sold annually by 2030.

Over the last four years, we have grown through strategic acquisitions of proven industry players, increased our product capacity and lineup, expanded our reach and distribution capabilities, have been featured multiple times in the Globe and Mail's Canada's fastest-growing companies list and surpassed our 2023 vision 26 months ahead of schedule. Who we need Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and Information Technology, we are hiring a Business Systems Administrator to play a key role in the accessibility, usability, security, and performance of Genuine Comfort’s core business systems.

You will be responsible for optimizing enterprise platforms, with a primary focus on ERP effectiveness, system integrations, and Microsoft 365 administration.

You will help maintain a scalable, right-sized technology environment that supports sustainable growth.

Acting as an internal subject matter expert, you will partner across departments to improve workflows, strengthen system reliability and security, and support the successful execution of IT-related continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

You will also provide hands-on technical support and endpoint deployment to support day-to-day IT operations.

This is a full-time position, working four days per week on-site in our Markham, Ontario office and one day remotely.

What’s in it for you Ownership.

You’re looking for a high-impact role with broad scope and influence.

This is the only dedicated in-house IT position in the organization, responsible for building and managing systems, support structures, and foundational technology practices that enable the business to scale.

You will play a key role in transforming the organization from ad hoc support to structured, documented, and scalable IT operations while actively driving change, continuous improvement, and modernization across the business.

Growth and exposure.

You want to deepen your skills in data and analytics.

While core priorities focus on systems, security, and support, you will be supported in learning and expanding into data, reporting, and analytics over time.

You will own and continuously improve the ticketing environment, workflows, knowledge base, and training content, increasing visibility across the organization and working closely with stakeholders at all levels.

A supportive growth culture.

Joining us at a time of growth offers the opportunity to increase your exposure and accelerate your career.

You will be part of a collaborative team that operates with initiative to drive the business forward.

As part of our core value: “We are actively looking for opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our roles and take proactive action on them.

We don’t ask for permission; we ask for vision (the why) and the guardrails to operate in”.

What you will focus on: Operate and safeguard business data.

You will support database operations including job monitoring, data validation, backups, and integrity checks.

You will assist with SQL data management and enable reporting and analytics initiatives such as Power BI while maintaining data accuracy, performance, and security.

Build documentation and enable self-service.

You will create SOPs, knowledge base articles, and user guides that enable employees to resolve common issues independently.

You will document recurring incidents, identify root causes, and standardize onboarding/offboarding processes to improve service consistency.

Administer core business applications.

You will manage administration across a cloud-first environment including ERP systems, SaaS platforms, cloud storage, endpoint security, and identity management.

You will oversee user access, credentials, MFA, and onboarding/offboarding while monitoring integrations and coordinating with vendors to troubleshoot issues, manage upgrades, and maintain system performance, security, and compliance.

Drive system improvements and act as an internal SME.

You will partner across departments to advance IT and systems-related initiatives while serving as the internal subject matter expert for business systems.

In this role, you will evaluate service providers, support system enhancements, and lead improvement initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation and user adoption.

You will also identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and enhance cross-departmental efficiency through IT-enabled solutions, including workflow redesign, reporting improvements, and vendor-supported projects from requirements gathering through implementation and user adoption.

Microsoft 365 administration.

You will manage user accounts, licensing, groups, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive while maintaining security controls such as MFA, conditional access, and device compliance.

You will support access governance, promote secure collaboration practices, and partner with internal stakeholders and providers to improve platform effectiveness.

Deliver technical support.

You will provide hands-on support for hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues while helping formalize a structured IT support model.

You will implement and improve the ticketing system, manage escalations, maintain high user satisfaction, and help establish service standards and response expectations.

Manage endpoints and IT assets.

You will oversee the lifecycle of devices including configuration, deployment, inventory tracking, and retirement, ensuring all endpoints meet security and operational standards.

What you bring: The experience.

You bring experience in software development, integrations, APIs, or working with ERP vendors and external IT service providers.

You take a customer-first approach and enjoy helping users work confidently with technology.

You communicate clearly with non-technical users and create documentation, SOPs, and user guides that support adoption and self-service.

Experience supporting multi-site environments across Canada and the U.S.

and working within an ITSM or ticketing platform would be an asset. The continuous improvement approach.

You are comfortable owning issues end-to-end and identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.

You have experience in clarifying needs and documenting requirements from project stakeholders to help identify, guide, and implement IT projects. The technical skills.

You have experience administering cloud-based and SaaS environments and acting as the primary administrator for core business systems.

Your background includes end-user support across hardware, software, access, and connectivity, as well as identity and access management, MFA, and endpoint security.

Communication and collaboration.

You communicate clearly and build trust through reliability, accountability, and professionalism.

You can translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and handle escalations with confidence.

Adaptability and resilience.

You thrive in environments with ambiguity and changing priorities.

You are comfortable being the sole in-house IT resource and continuously improving how technology supports the business.
