Job description

We are seeking a highly accomplished Systems Integrator for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a key hybrid-cloud systems engineering, infrastructure migration, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) administration capacity, specializing in supporting Azure landing zones, cloud migrations, and Citrix environment operations.

As a Systems Integrator, you will bridge the gap between cloud transformation projects, core infrastructure administration, and ongoing operational support. Operating within a hybrid work model in downtown Toronto, you will lead the execution of Lift-and-Shift server migrations to Azure, manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, oversee monthly Citrix image maintenance, and maintain core Active Directory and Windows Server ecosystems. This position is tailored for a technical systems authority with deep hands-on expertise in Azure Migrate, Terraform, hybrid networking, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops who can resolve complex technical blockers and ensure seamless operational continuity.

Location: Toronto, ON

Assignment Type: Hybrid (Office in downtown Toronto with up to 2 days remote flexibility)

Contract Duration: 1-year contract (with potential for 1-year extension)

Advantages
Hybrid Cloud Scope: Hands-on execution across production-ready Azure Landing Zones, hybrid networking, and VMware-to-Azure Lift-and-Shift migration waves.

Modern Infrastructure Tooling: Utilize Terraform for IaC deployment alongside Azure Migrate for discovery, replication, and cutover automation.

Dual Infrastructure Focus: Balance cloud migration initiatives with advanced Citrix, VDI, and Windows Server administration.

Balanced Hybrid Model: Enjoy a flexible working model combining collaborative onsite days in downtown Toronto with remote work.

Responsibilities
Support production-ready Azure Landing Zone environments, hybrid connectivity, subscriptions, RBAC policies, and route tables.

Execute controlled Lift-and-Shift migration waves moving VMware workloads to Azure using Azure Migrate tooling and dependency mapping.

Deploy, review, and troubleshoot Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configurations utilizing Terraform.

Coordinate migration dependencies, cutover plans, and post-migration validation across application owners, network teams, and implementation partners.

Perform monthly VDI and Citrix image maintenance, PVS/vDisk updates, application packaging, StoreFront configurations, and FSLogix changes.

Execute Citrix upgrades, patching, readiness testing, rollback planning, and production validation.

Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, certificates/PKI, and LDAP/LDAPS configurations.

Oversee production application deployments, system monitoring, incident/change management (RFCs), and vendor escalations.

Author technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials to transition migrated workloads into ongoing operations.

Support additional infrastructure initiatives, technology upgrades, and emerging operational priorities as assigned.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Infrastructure Requirements
Azure Infrastructure & Migration: Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience, including recent Lift-and-Shift server migrations using Azure Migrate.

Landing Zone & Hybrid Networking: Demonstrated experience managing Azure Landing Zones, subscriptions, RBAC, VNets, route tables, VPN, and ExpressRoute hybrid connectivity.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Practical experience reviewing, troubleshooting, and deploying templates using Terraform.

Windows Server & Directory Services: Advanced Windows Server administration skills, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, LDAP/LDAPS, and PKI/certificate management.

Citrix & VDI Administration: Deep technical expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, PVS/vDisk image maintenance, StoreFront, Citrix Workspace, application publishing, and FSLogix profile management.

Operations & Change Governance: Proven track record in production operations, incident/change management, RFC documentation, and vendor escalation.

Preferred Certifications & Assets
Azure Certifications: Active AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate), AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert), or AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer Associate) designations.

IaC & Citrix Certifications: HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate or relevant Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops / DaaS administration certifications.

IT Service Management: ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent operational framework experience.

Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Problem Solving & Remediation: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify technical blockers and drive rapid remediation.

Communication & Coordination: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams, application owners, and vendors.
