Job descriptionDiploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology from an Institute of Technology. 5–7 years of experience in program or project management. Ability to demonstrate delivery of high-complexity and / or high-value projects or programs, preferably within a utility, engineering, or construction environment. Intermediate technical knowledge in a specific field (e.g., Engineering, Technical, Trade, Business, or Sciences) with general knowledge of other disciplines. Strong understanding of project and program management principles, various delivery models, and contracting strategies. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and management skills with the ability to work in an unstructured environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast trends and report on progress using tools such as Excel and Tableau. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present project information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. Engineering degree or equivalent; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Overview
This project management position resides within the Distribution Design and Customer Connections (DDCC) organization and is responsible for the delivery of strategic segments of customer connection work. This role will project manage a large volume of high-profile, time-sensitive customer projects and will leverage and build relationships across multiple internal stakeholders to successfully deliver projects that meet mandated timelines and objectives.
What you will be doing
- Responsible for project management activities including planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill business needs.
- Work with internal delivery partners in Distribution Design, Engineering, Line Field Operations, Construction Services, Program Contract Management, Environment, Indigenous Relations, and Safety to successfully deliver the program.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain strong influential working relationships with key operational groups, including Key Accounts.
- Monitor, forecast, control, and report on monthly program progress while providing project status updates to all relevant stakeholders.
