Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations and reporting for our commercial and residential property management company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, experience managing a team of payable clerks and property accountants, a solid understanding of non-resident tax reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, including payable clerks and property accountants.
• Oversee all aspects of property accounting including finances, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with non-resident tax reporting requirements for international clients.
• Utilize Yardi Voyager software to manage financial data and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement standardized accounting policies, procedures and controls to optimize financial performance and achieve company goals.
• Conduct regular financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and property management.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process for the property portfolio working closely with operations, property managers and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, develop actionable insights, and capable of managing multiple properties and deadlines.
• Engage in new property and investor transitions while handling all incoming requests and special requirements.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• CPA or similar professional designation required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with 3 years in a leadership role and 3 years working within a real estate organization.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager software is essential.
• Strong understanding of non-resident tax reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in German is a valuable asset.
• Proven track record of driving financial performance and achieving results.
