Ourclient is a nonprofit compassionate organization established in1981 dedicated to brightening the lives of isolated seniors withinthe Greater Toronto Area.

Through skilled volunteer pairing theyprovide companionship support and dignity combating socialisolation with programs tailored to fostering lasting connectionsandwellbeing.

  • Leadthe recruitment strategy for volunteers across all our programsdeveloping compelling opportunities tailored to attract individualspassionate about senior care.
  • Utilizediverse channels such as online platforms community events andnetworking to reach and engage potentialcandidates.
  • Conductprescreening interviews and inperson interviews to ensure alignmentwith our organizations mission and values and facilitate referencechecks and backgroundchecks.
  • Setambitious yet achievable targets for volunteer recruitment aimingfor 150 volunteers annually with a focus on achieving 10 volunteerspermonth.
  • Collaboratewith program coordinators to match volunteers with suitableprograms based on their skills andinterests.
  • Overseethe onboarding process including transitioning training back toinperson sessions and providing necessary support for volunteersassigned to specificprograms.
  • Fostera sense of community and camaraderie among volunteers to promotelongterm engagement andretention.
  • Continuouslyevaluate and improve recruitment strategies measuring theeffectiveness of efforts and seeking opportunities forexpansion .

Requirements

  • Bachelorsdegree in a relevant field such as social work human resources ornonprofit managementpreferred.
  • Provenexperience in volunteer recruitment engagement or managementparticularly within the context of communitybased organizations orseniorcare.
  • Strongcommunication skills both verbal and written with the ability toarticulate the mission and values of the organization to potentialvolunteers.
  • Excellentinterpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and foster asense of community among volunteers from diversebackgrounds.
  • Demonstratedability to develop and implement recruitment strategies acrossvarious channels including online platforms community events andnetworking.
  • Experienceconducting interviews and screening processes including referenceand background checks to ensure alignment with organizationalrequirements.
  • Goalorientedmindset with the ability to set and achieve ambitious targets forvolunteer recruitment while maintaining flexibility based onseasonalfluctuations.
  • Strongorganizational skills with the ability to manage multiplepriorities and tasks simultaneously in a fastpacedenvironment.
  • Commitmentto the organizations mission and values with a genuine passion forserving seniors and enhancing their quality of life throughvolunteerism.
  • Accessto a vehicle with a valid driverslicense

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, humanresources, or nonprofit management preferred. Proven experience involunteer recruitment, engagement, or management, particularlywithin the context of community-based organizations or senior care.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with theability to articulate the mission and values of the organization topotential volunteers.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with theability to build rapport and foster a sense of community amongvolunteers from diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrated ability todevelop and implement recruitment strategies across variouschannels, including online platforms, community events, andnetworking.

Experience conducting interviews and screeningprocesses, including reference and background checks, to ensurealignment with organizational requirements.

Goal-oriented mindsetwith the ability to set and achieve ambitious targets for volunteerrecruitment while maintaining flexibility based on seasonalfluctuations.

Strong organizational skills with the ability tomanage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously in a fast-pacedenvironment.

Commitment to the organization's mission and values,with a genuine passion for serving seniors and enhancing theirquality of life through volunteerism.

Access to a vehicle with avalid driver's license. Fully vaccinated againstCOVID-19.
