0 Continuing Position DISTRICT SUBSTITUTE ASSIGNMENT INCLUDES REGULAR SUBSTITUTE TEACHING WORK IN THE BURNS LAKE AREA MUST HAVE ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRINCIPAL On days without teacher replacement work, the successful candidate will report to their home school (to be determined), and will be assigned teacher work at that site by the Principal.

The school district encompasses five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St James and Vanderhoof and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle.

This large area served by our school district has a population of just under 40,000 residents in the beautiful north central BC.

We serve 3,000 students in our standard schools and approximately 900 FTE at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia.

Qualifications Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary). A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.

Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior / senior grade levels. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.

Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.

Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice. Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.

Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student. Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
