- Vancouver Island North District, BC Teacher Teaching On Call Position (TTOC) Commencing : SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 The successful candidate will have the following qualifications : completion of a Bachelor of Education;
- certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification; recent successful teaching experience;
- strong organizational and classroom management skills with the ability and energy to motivate students and adjust instructional strategies accordingly;
- the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning; strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff and parents;
- strong interest in innovation and inquiry; strong formative assessment practices; experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems;
ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; strong classroom management skills; ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $62,493 to $109,240, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
