We are currently seeking a Law Clerk to join our Personal Injury team to assist one lawyer.
Responsibilities :
- Performing full clerical, administrative and general office duties (i.e. opening and closing files, billings / accounts, etc.)
- Requesting and reviewing undertakings and productions
- Creating and updating medical briefs and financial briefs
- Preparing and / or transcribing legal documents according to general instructions and / or precedents
- Verbal and written communication with lawyers’ peers, subordinates, opposing counsel, agents and clients for various reasons
- Coordinating dates for Examination of Discovery, mediations, settlement conferences, pre-trial, trial, etc.
- Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications :
- Relevant degree or diploma that has been successfully completed
- Ability to take direction and work effectively, individually and as part of a team
- The ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, conscientious and organized
- Exceptional computer skills (i.e. strong proficiency in Microsoft Office)
A satisfactory criminal records check will be required from the selected candidate as a condition of employment.
