Position Overview :
HealthOPM is seeking a skilled Perfusionist to support open-heart and major vascular surgeries at a hospital in Kitchener. This critical role involves operating heart-lung machines, managing extracorporeal life support systems, and collaborating with the cardiac surgery team to ensure patient safety during surgery and in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate Equipment : Manage heart-lung machines and other life support devices during surgeries.
- Patient Care : Administer blood products and solutions as prescribed, ensuring optimal patient oxygenation and blood flow.
- Collaboration : Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff for comprehensive patient care.
- Emergency Response : Respond calmly and expertly to medical emergencies.
- Education & Research : Participate in ongoing professional development, integrating new research into practice.
- Non-Cardiac Services : Provide perfusion support for non-cardiac surgeries as needed.
