This Law Firm is looking to add a Senior Tort Law Clerk to their team immediately. Your new role
As Plaintiff Personal Injury Senior Tort Law Clerk, you will be supporting a Senior Associate and running all Tort files open to close up to settlement proposal independently.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the calendar, scheduling appointments, discoveries, mediations, and trial dates, answering correspondence, organizing and maintaining client files and diarizing calendar for follow-up, as well as handling client inquiries in a professional manner.
You will also have strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, routine court procedures such as serving and filing court documents, preparing pleadings and other legal documents (Statement of Claims, Notice of Motions, Affidavit of Documents, etc.
reviewing transcripts, preparing and updating undertakings charts, obtaining productions from opposing counsel and third parties, reviewing and summarizing medical documentation and other file documents, corresponding with court regarding Pre-Trial, uploading documents to Caselines, finalizing and serving mediation and pre-trial briefs, and having some knowledge of trial preparation, issuing and serving Summons to Witness and preparing Trial Briefs.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for an experienced Tort Law Clerk with 5+ years’ experience in plaintiff personal injury law with practical knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and trial preparation.
This role is predominantly on the Tort side and will require strong experience in this area, however Accident Benefits experience is considered an asset.
Strongputer literacy skills, with impeccable written and verbal skills and strong attention to detail is required for this role.
Experience with Primafact and MS Office Suite as well as superior drafting skills is required with FileVine experience considered an asset.
This position is ideal for a Law Clerk looking to further develop their skills and work autonomously managing their files open to close alongside the Senior Associate within a well-established firm.
What you'll get in return
Apetitive salary ranging between $65,000-$80,000 and 3 4 weeks paid vacationmensurate with experience, 6 personal days / sick, full benefits package, as well as access to a gym and pool within the office building.
