We are currently recruiting a temporary full-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join an interprofessional team to support contraceptive and sexual health care.
This innovative role will be part of a team supporting patients to receive sensitive, professional and gender-affirming care that supports patient choice.
This individual will be proactive, self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in a busy clinic setting.
Are you experienced in
- Supporting physicians with day-to-day operation of a busy clinic including assessment, vitals, room preparation, and handling lab specimens.
- Assessments and support for patients in relation to family planning, STI screening, cancer screening and minor procedures with a sensitive and confidential approach to care.
- Venipuncture and injections.
- Reviewing and prioritization of lab results.
- Supporting patients without family doctors to access primary care ensuring warm transitions and collaboration with other community partners (for example public health).
- Assisting with administrative organization (medical records, invoicing, supplies ordering) and implementation of clinics.
- Supporting patients and their caregivers, ensuring their questions are answered and a seamless care approach is in place.
- Liaising with other care team members and partners to provide a patient-centered approach.
- Maintaining statistics as needed.
If so, we are looking for a future colleague who has
- Registered Practical Nurse diploma.
- Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Three to five years of nursing experience in a community setting or a combination of community, hospital, or public health settings.
- Experience in primary care is an asset.
- A kind and caring approach to care when supporting patients and their caregivers.
