Who we are?

The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

What is the project?

The Ontario Line ( OL ) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds.

The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel ( NC ) project consists of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes.

The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts : (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ( EGS ) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract ( PTUS ), with supporting Early Works.

What is the Opportunity?

• Complete various field survey operations as assigned, including but not limited to total Station accurate set of angles and high accuracy levelling lops for Surface and Tunnel control network, total Station / GPS surveys, lay-outs and As-Built and other surface and tunnel survey works as requested.
• Setup and configure survey equipment.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Helps maintaining and verifying the control network.
• Maintain accurate survey notes and records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
• Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required.
• Communicate with operations, engineers, and subcontractors to complete assigned tasks.
• Manage As-Built information and digital records.

What You’ll bring to the Team (Knowledge, Skills, Competencies)

• Solid understanding of safety requirements on an active construction site and applicable safety policies.
• Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of survey practices and standards.
• Preferred 2 years’ experience in Construction Surveying including Control Networks.
• Construction experience in Civil, Structural, Utilities and other areas preferred.
• Good computer skills. Preferred proficiency in the use of survey data and office, surveying, and CAD software.
• Good oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
• GPS, total station (Leica Captivate preferred), and digital level experiences.
• Experience in AutoCAD and / or Bentley MicroStation is an asset.
• Experience with Hydro One and Toronto Hydro specifications and standards is an asset.

Other Requirements :

• G Driver’s License with an acceptable record.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environment conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 35 kg / 75 lbs. Physical labors are a part of this job.
