The Elmira facility is a state of the art production facility used to manufacture synthetic lubricants and additives for lubricants, plastics and rubber.
In addition to the main production facilities we have a comprehensive wastewater treatment system that is used to treat all of the process wastewater that is generated on site, and a groundwater treatment system to remove historic contaminants prior to discharge.
The Elmira site is also home to a pilot plant, which is used by our scientists and engineers to develop and test new products and production processes.
Situated on 75 acres (of which 22 acres are used for operations), the manufacturing facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our hourly employees are represented by the United Steelworkers Union.
The West Hill facility began its operations in 1962, The first operation at the West Hill site consisted of a custom blending facility for a major Canadian oil and gas company.
In 1992, the property at 565 Coronation Drive was purchased. It currently houses offices, a research and development laboratory and a finished goods warehouse.
Today, around 100 employees work at the West Hill facility where we manufacture Grease and Specialty Additives. Our grease is used to keep machinery running smoothly in food processing, manufacturing, marine, power generation and many other industries.
Our Specialty Additives and lubricants are used in automotive, marine and aviation oils, transmission fluids and fuels to enhance performance and extend engine life.
Both sites (Elmira and West Hill) are registered under the ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
Job Highlights
As a Process Operator you will be responsible for the safe operation of production processes. You will provide hands on operating support as part of the shift team and have collaborative interactions with shift personnel as well the Maintenance, Laboratory, and Distribution departments.
- Shift : 12 hours continental shift schedule
- Monitor the process in the field and to report unusual and unsafe conditions.
- Identify routine maintenance requirements, and troubleshoot issues.
- Carry out required valving and piping alignments, equipment changes, preparations for maintenance, transfers of materials, chemical additions, and blends in a safe and timely manner.
- This individual has both the authority and responsibility to cease equipment operation in the event of conditions that are of an imminent hazard to equipment, the environment, or plant personnel.
- Participate in activities and meetings that will enhance plant safety, reliability, cost and environmental performance.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with site standards and coach others to do the same.
Requirements
- Comfortable working with computers
- Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
- Technical or vocational education preferred; Grade 12 education is a must
- Experience in Chemical Process Manufacturing is preferred
- Commitment to Safety Excellence

- Be able to pay attention to detail for blending and labeling of finished goods
