Excel / VBA Developer (3‑Month Contract)
Location : Downtown Toronto (Hybrid — 1–2 days per week in office)
Contract Length : 3 months with possible extension
Start Date : Immediate
Our client is a global leader in professional services. They are seeking an experienced Excel / VBA Developer to join the team on a short‑term contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building advanced Excel solutions, integrating external data sources, and optimizing workflows. You’ll be working closely with stakeholders to deliver robust, modular, and scalable tools that support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop modular VBA code using procedures and functions.
Apply advanced Excel formulas, including dynamic arrays and LAMBDA functions.
Integrate Excel solutions with external data sources (SharePoint lists, SQL databases).
Implement version control within macro‑enabled workbooks.
Utilize Power Query for data transformation and automation.
Leverage the Excel Object Model with deep knowledge of Application, Workbooks, Worksheets, Range, and related objects.
Build and manage ActiveX and Form controls.
Handle workbook and worksheet‑level events effectively.
Develop VBA solutions that interact with COM objects.
Create and distribute add‑ins (XLA / XLAM) for broader team use.
Qualifications
Proven expertise in Excel VBA development and automation.
Strong proficiency with advanced Excel functions and formulas.
Hands‑on experience integrating Excel with SharePoint and SQL databases.
Skilled in Power Query and Excel Object Model.
Practical experience with event handling, ActiveX / Form controls, and COM object interaction.
Ability to design, package, and distribute Excel add‑ins.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
