Job description

Our client, a leading global enterprise organization, is seeking an experienced, delivery-focused Release Train Strategist II to guide the planning, deployment, and end-to-end delivery of complex software initiatives across multiple cross-functional teams.

In this strategic Scaled Agile role, you will act as a pivotal Release Train Engineer (RTE), facilitating Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, managing critical workstream interdependencies, and clearing delivery blockers within a regulated technology ecosystem. You will partner closely with product leadership, system architects, and delivery squads to define features, track performance metrics, and foster a culture of continuous delivery. This position is ideal for a seasoned technology Program Manager who pairs extensive SAFe execution experience with regulatory compliance expertise and strong stakeholder management skills.

Duration: 12-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days per week on-site at the corporate office, 1 day work from home; flexible anchor days)

Advantages
High-Impact Enterprise Program Scope: Direct the execution strategy and PI planning rhythms for large-scale, enterprise-critical software release trains.

Complex Regulatory Sandbox: Apply your SAFe framework expertise within a highly structured, regulated environment, driving governance and compliance alongside rapid delivery.

Long-Term Contract Stability: Secure a full 12-month contract engagement with a well-funded, stable technology delivery organization.

Collaborative Hybrid Environment: Work alongside top-tier Agile coaches, product managers, and engineering leads in a supportive, hybrid setting.

Responsibilities
Program Increment (PI) Planning & Train Facilitation
PI Session Leadership: Facilitate end-to-end Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, aligning team objectives, release roadmaps, and delivery commitments with the overall organizational vision.

Interdependency & Flow Management: Monitor progress across distributed squads to maintain timeline adherence, track critical paths, and resolve complex interdependencies across the release train.

Blocker & Risk Resolution: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, impediments, and technical blockers affecting release schedules or product quality.

Stakeholder Alignment & Performance Optimization
Product & Engineering Alignment: Partner with product management, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders to prioritize features, capability enablers, and upcoming release scopes.

Metrics & Reporting: Generate, analyze, and communicate key velocity and quality metrics to track release train health, optimize continuous delivery pipelines, and drive process improvements.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Foster open communication and continuous improvement practices across all participating teams within the agile release train.

Qualifications
Agile Release Train Leadership: 2+ years of dedicated experience operating as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Release Train Strategist within a Scaled Agile environment.

Regulatory Domain Experience: 2+ years of experience delivering technology projects subject to strict regulatory, compliance, or governance oversight.

End-to-End Program Management: 10+ years of progressive Project/Program Management experience overseeing end-to-end technology delivery.

Scaled Agile & Tooling Fluency: Hands-on mastery of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices alongside direct experience utilizing Jira for backlog, increment, and dependency tracking.

Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; outstanding stakeholder management capabilities; highly adaptable self-starter with strong time and priority management discipline.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Previous technology delivery experience within a Tier-1 Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Institution setting.

Functional financial acumen and project budget tracking experience.

Active SAFe Certification (e.g., SAFe RTE, SPC, or SASM).

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy Release Train Strategist who pairs an absolute command of SAFe execution, Jira tracking, and regulatory governance with the program management leadership needed to align cross-functional teams, this 12-month hybrid contract is an outstanding opportunity. Bring your PI planning precision, blocker resolution discipline, and collaborative delivery style to our client's growing technology team today!
