Job description
SCADA Engineer

Our client, located in Markham, is a growing systems integrator specializing MES and SCADA solutions. They are actively looking for an experience SCADA Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for leading and contributing to requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and commissioning of SCADA and MES solutions. This is a hybrid or office role.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing and developing SCADA, PLC and MES applications and systems.
  • Delivering successful implementations as per client requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • Writing technical documentation including requirements specifications, design specifications, and test protocols for SCADA, PLC and MES solutions.
  • Providing advice and technical consultation to clients.
  • Installing and commissioning systems at client facilities.
  • Developing and delivering end-user training.
  • Providing ongoing support to clients.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • 5+ years of AVEVA (formerly Wonderware) or Ignition SCADA experience required.
  • 5+ years of Rockwell or Schneider PLC programming experience.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies.
  • Proven experience commissioning solutions in production environment.
  • Demonstrated success in project execution, collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be client-facing and work directly with clients, including consulting experience including requirements gathering and on-site commissioning.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skill.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI/ISA-95 and ANSI/ISA-88.
This is a new role with compensation ranging from $80,000 to $125,000 depending on experience.
