Job description

Join Manulife’s Technology Transformation team!

Help redefine how we enable learning and development across global technology teams. The Technology Transformation and Change Manager plays a critical role in enabling the success of our program - Manulife University (MU). This role bridges strategy and execution—driving change adoption, engagement, and communication for enterprise technology learning and transformation initiatives across North America.

Reporting to the program Director, you’ll be a trusted partner to the Head of Global Technology Change Management. This role ensures learning initiatives are effectively planned, communicated, adopted, and continuously improved working alongside global counterparts. The position requires strong change enablement capability, partner engagement, and a passion for building learning communities that accelerate technology transformation at scale.

This is a highly collaborative role that works across regions in partnership with learning champions and technology communities to translate transformation goals into measurable learning outcomes and sustained adoption.

Position Responsibilities:

Communications & Change Planning (25%)

  • Develop and implement end-to-end communication and change strategies for MU learning initiatives.

  • Ensure timely, clear, and effective dissemination of information to key collaborators across segments.

  • Partner with MU teams in North America and Asia to align messaging, change plans, and engagement strategies with broader global technology objectives.

Learning Ambassador Engagement (20%)

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with segment Learning Ambassadors

  • Design and implement engagement strategies that foster ambassador participation, advocacy, and ownership of learning initiatives.

  • Provide ongoing updates, recognition, and support to ensure ambassadors remain informed, motivated, and aligned how MU meets their priorities.

Adoption & Engagement Tracking (15%)

  • Partner with Learning Ambassadors and segment leaders to improve reach, participation, and learning effectiveness.

  • Monitor and report on adoption, participation, and engagement metrics for MU and broader Technology Transformation initiatives.

  • Lead requirements towards the development and evolution of a persona-based Learner Dashboard supporting key stakeholder needs.

Learning Needs Assessment & Risk Mitigation (15%)

  • Continuously assess learning gaps and capability needs across North American segments, using insights from Learning Ambassadors, the ITCF core team and dashboards and critical metrics.

  • Collaborate with the MU Director to cocreate targeted learning plans addressing identified gaps and priorities.

  • Proactively identify risks to adoption or learning effectiveness and implement mitigation strategies.

Calendar & Event Management (15%)

  • Partner with the Director to manage the learning calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic technology priorities.

  • Promote upcoming events across relevant communication channels to improve awareness and participation.

  • Coordinate logistics and communications for events and community sessions.

Community of Practice (CoP) Engagement (10%)

  • Support the organization and facilitation of the learning agendas.

  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and peer learning among ambassadors and participants.

  • Track engagement and feedback to continuously improve MU related CoP initiatives and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Change Management, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Technology, or related field.

  • 5-10+ years of proven experience supporting enterprise transformation, change enablement, or learning adoption initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional partner groups and regions.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and partner management skills.

  • Experience using engagement metrics and analytics to drive continuous improvement.

Core Proficiencies:

Change Management & Adoption: Designs and delivers change strategies that drive measurable learning adoption and behavioral change.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Builds trust and influence across MU leadership, learning ambassadors, and segment partners.
Program & Event Coordination: Manages complex calendars, learning programs, and engagement initiatives with attention to detail.
Critical Thinking: Connects global technology strategy to learning plans and execution.
Data Driven Decision Making: Uses participation and engagement insights to optimize learning impact.
Collaboration & Influence: Works effectively across geographies, functions, and communities of practice.
Adaptability & Problem Solving: Thrives in ambiguity and proactively mitigates risks to learning outcomes.
