Casual Technology Labourer
We are excited to offer a Casual Technology Labourer opportunity, commencing May 1, 2026 until August 28, 2026, within the Technology Department.
This position may involve occasional strenuous physical labour. We are seeking a team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues while also working independently when required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
Success in this role requires maintaining accuracy and staying organized, even when working under pressure.

What will you work?
34.00 hours/week Monday-Friday
What you will do?
- Unbox, sort and label new equipment
- Distribute new equipment to various school sites
- Deploy software to new PC's
- Facilitate new computer deployment and setup
- Coordinate school based technology recycling programs
- Review common technical issues for root causes and work with the IT team to resolve
- Provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment

Requirements
- Proof of Grade 12, General Educational Development (GED) or Post Secondary. Education received outside of Canada will require a Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) confirming high school or post secondary equivalencies.
- The successful applicant should be enrolled in Post Secondary Education.
- Class 5 driver's license (graduated driver's license (GDL) not accepted).
- Ability to lift independently up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to lift with assistance 50 lbs and above.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s license, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
Benefits
The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.
