We are looking for a conscientious, Technical Delivery Lead to join the Payment and Credit Decisioning team. Our team is at the center of all payment and credit decision related activity at Rogers and our applications are mission critical.

You’ll be a part of transforming and modernizing our applications with the latest technologies. What you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute to codebase development through hands-on programming and code reviews
  • Lead the overall software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into features
  • Design, Develop and deliver for the Integration projects following the Agile & Waterfall development methodology.
  • Responsible for the Integration design, codebase, environment and software.
  • The role includes accountabilities of both the new development and Operational support (Practicing Dev Ops)
  • Work with various IT teams, e.g., QA, other development teams, IT PMs to develop realistic IT solution following an Agile delivery schedule.
  • Works and collaborates with stakeholders and team leaders to develop aggressive yet achievable solutions.
  • Promotes and support a work environment where employees are engaged, challenged, accountable, and recognized.
  • Promotes quality, innovation, teamwork, and timely communication of issues / opportunities.
  • Builds trusted relationships throughout IT organization to enable delivery of client requirements.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independent judgment and autonomy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and other team members.

What you bring:

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in Java application development on both Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Expertise in systems analysis and software application programming, with a focus on performance and testability of components.
  • Experience with APIs, security protocols and Payment Card Industry
  • Familiarity with financial data structures, payment and credit evaluation products is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in managing and successfully implementing projects.
  • Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

Technical Experience:

  • Extensive experience with Azure Cloud including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration and Azure Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of Apache Kafka and other messaging queues.
  • Proficient in Java development with hands-on expertise in Spring Boot for building microservices, Hibernate and Spring JPA for ORM and database interactions. 4. Experience with Struts Framework for developing and
  • maintaining web applications.
  • Good to have knowledge with UI development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, jQuery, or modern frameworks like Angular is a plus.
  • Familiarity with application servers such as Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with diverse database technologies like Relational Databases - Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL Databases - Cosmos DB.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices with expertise in CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Dynatrace.
  • Strong understanding of J2EE principles and patterns for enterprise application development.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot integration challenges in complex architectures.
