Job Description
AECOM Buildings + Place is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Structural Engineer to help lead building projects (commercial, institutional, light industrial facilities such as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Sewage Lift Stations). This position can be based out of Calgary or Edmonton office with opportunities for hybrid work. Some travel to nearby cities may be required. This role offers opportunities for career growth. AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to : Municipal, Commercial, Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.
Major Responsibilities
- Independently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentation.
- Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendations.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervision.
- Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
- Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high‑quality design solutions.

Compensation
CAD 140,000 – 160,000 per year, based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
